Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Operator
Job Description
Sirius Staffing is seeking a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Operator in Birmingham, AL. This is an excellent opportunity to learn from industry experts in a science-driven work environment. Full-time, long-term contract, offering a stable and secure opportunity with the possibility of direct hire.
$25/hr + Benefits Offered + PTO accrued | Holiday Pay
Mon – Fri 8a-5p
What you need to qualify for this position:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Chemistry or Biology (preferred)
- 0–2 years of relevant industry/ Pharma Lab experience (as determined by management)
- Understanding of general laboratory glassware and its proper use
- Basic understanding of system controls and data logging software
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with data entry
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division); able to perform basic calculations
- when supplied with the equation.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow detailed written instructions/procedures
What you will be doing:
- Perform aseptic technique with minimal supervision
- Execute development/engineering, GLP, or GMP batch records with direct supervision
- Accurately perform complex, multi-step solution preparations with direct supervision
- Assemble and disassemble process equipment on multiple unit operations for an extrusion, microsphere, liposome, or polymerization process with direct supervision
- Operate PLC-controlled equipment with direct supervision, including adjusting set-points as directed in batch records
- Use basic hand tools required for equipment operation
- Execute in-process environmental monitoring with direct supervision
- Strict adherence to safety practices and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriate for the type of hazard and exposure potential
- Actively participate in the general area housekeeping
- Seek out and identify opportunities related to the maintenance, calibration, and improvement of company facilities, equipment, and procedures
- Perform responsibilities in compliance with the quality systems as described in the company’s Quality Manual
- Adhere to all company safety, health, and environmental policies, procedures, and directives
- Conduct all development/engineering, clinical phase, and/or commercial batches in a safe manner by use of MSDS to establish chemical hazards; follow the appropriate cGMP procedures; and report all incidents that could threaten the safety of company personnel
- Participate in the execution of IOQs (Installation Qualification) with direct supervision
- Perform other duties as required by the supervisor
