Job Description
Sirius Staffing is seeking candidates for a Process Controls Project Lead role in Mobile, AL. This is a contract position expected to last a minimum of 1 year. Please see additional details below!
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a team of process controls designers, contractors, and vendors from conceptual engineering through commissioning phase.
- Manage process controls projects including defining scope, estimating cost, and developing project schedules.
- Demonstrates automation and process controls expertise for the engineering department.
- Support multiple smaller projects as a team member or lead highly complex automation projects as the Project Manager
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering
- 10 years of chemical or similar plant experience
- Demonstrated process controls design and management experience
- Experience working with field instrumentation in a chemical plant (including knowledge of various types of instruments and instrumentation vendors)
- Experience working with distributed control systems (DCS), safety instrumented system (SIS), and PLC vendors.
- Exceptional computer skills
- Demonstrated technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills (preferably Emerson DeltaV or Siemens PCS7)
- Familiarity of wiring concepts for Class 1 Div 2 or Div 1 hazardous areas
- Knowledge of industry standards and applicable electrical codes (ISA-101, ISA-S88, ISA-84, ISA 182.)
- Travel requirement up to 35%
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating a team of peers.
Preferred Requirements:
- Hands-on experience working with Siemens PCS7 or Emerson DeltaV
- Extensive instrumentation experience
- Experience supporting process hazard analysis’ (PHA’s) or hazard identifications (HAZID).
- Experience working with an EPCM automation team on larger projects ($80MM+)
- PE License in Controls or Electrical
