Sirius Staffing is seeking a Project Engineer for a temp-to-hire opportunity within Pascagoula, MS. See details below:
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6a-3p, 7a-4p, or 8a-5p
Summary: The project Engineer will be responsible for coordinating engineering activities, ensuring project design and production meet the required standards and schedules.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • For the assigned project(s), the Project Engineer is the primary engineering interface within the department and between Engineering and other departments.
  • Chairs weekly design meeting to review status and discuss pending issues and assigns actions for items not meeting plan.
  • Manage project design documentation effectively.
  • Liaise with engineering discipline leads to define scope, delegate tasks, ensure schedule compliance, and provide reporting. Works closely with all engineering disciplines leads to identify scope, assign responsibilities, and ensure schedule compliance and/or reporting.
  • Responsible for maintaining project design records, Class/Owner submittals, and correspondence files, Purchase Technical Specifications/technical reviews and design status; tracks and ensures integration of all projects specific vendor furnished information to support design development; ensuring the design complies with the project specification, regulatory requirements and standard design practices. Resolves all class and owner design comments and maintains correspondence records.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in both Commercial and Military Programs is a plus. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, Auto CAD, Navisworks, ABS, DNV, USCG, and marine standard practices.
  •  Must have well-rounded/ diverse engineering experience, shipbuilding, and production processes. 
Preferred skills
  • Ability to chair meetings to review design statutes and resolve pending issues. 
  • Expertise in maintaining project design records such as Class/ Owner submittals and correspondence files.
  • Experience with Purchase Technical Specifications/ Technical  Reviews
  • Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills, strong analytical skills, ability to work in a team environment, and strong computer literacy are desired.
