Project Manager
Job Description
- Meet with the client to assess, define, and clarify the requirements of operational and maintenance projects that must be executed at the plant level.
- Field Verification of the installed Equipment and updating the plant layouts for the site.
- Responsible for being an onsite resource assisting all disciplines in efforts to build the plant installation and updating drawings, models, and design documents.
- Coordinate project requirements and scope with contractors as an advocate for the client to ensure quality, cost, and schedule are met.
- Look for opportunities for added value by applying Value Improving Practices.
- Coordinate activities with plant operations and maintenance to ensure that projects can be completed with minimal disruption to the production schedule.
- Create a detailed work plan that identifies and sequences the activities needed to complete the project successfully.
- Ensure compliance with all client policies, procedures, safety, and technical standards. Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures and manage all project funds.
- Create and manage the schedule and ensure that the project deliverables are on time; ensure that quality assurance procedures are followed and completed throughout the project's execution.
- Lead, motivate, and coach cross-discipline project teams, ensuring a positive team environment and facilitating conflict resolution.
- Establish and maintain team communication at both the client and home office.
- Schedule and facilitate all project team meetings and distribute accurate meeting minutes.
- Utilize standard forms and reports to document project activities and project status.
- Ensure all project information is appropriately distributed, documented, and saved.
- Evaluate the project's status compared to the planning phase and determine the causes of any deviations; communicate and agree with the client on any change order needs.
- Represent and balance the client's and the organization's interests.
- Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering is required
- 7+ years of experience in the chemical industry is preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of P&IDs and PFDs
- Strong competencies in planning, project management, leadership, and organization
- Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to produce and present clear, concise, and professionally written communications and presentations.
- Strong analytical capabilities
- Ability to lead and facilitate multiple activities and resources.
- Demonstrated work ethic, integrity, and professional conduct.
- Passionate, high energy, and results-oriented with a creative and analytical mind.
