Job Description

Sirius Staffing is seeking a Project Manager for a contract position in Houston, TX. The Project Manager will have a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and experience as a project leader accountable for project implementation activities at the client site. They will be responsible for executing projects that meet the client’s objectives while coordinating engineering activities. The PM will be the focal point for the efforts required to execute projects. 
 
Compensation: $43.27 - $62.50/hr + $1200 weekly per diem. 
Benefits offered + PTO accrued & Holiday Pay 
 
Duration: 6 months – 1 year 
 
Responsibilities: 
 
  • Meet with the client to assess, define, and clarify the requirements of operational and maintenance projects that must be executed at the plant level.
  • Field Verification of the installed Equipment and updating the plant layouts for the site.
  • Responsible for being an onsite resource assisting all disciplines in efforts to build the plant installation and updating drawings, models, and design documents.
  • Coordinate project requirements and scope with contractors as an advocate for the client to ensure quality, cost, and schedule are met.
  • Look for opportunities for added value by applying Value Improving Practices.
  • Coordinate activities with plant operations and maintenance to ensure that projects can be completed with minimal disruption to the production schedule.
  • Create a detailed work plan that identifies and sequences the activities needed to complete the project successfully.
  • Ensure compliance with all client policies, procedures, safety, and technical standards. Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures and manage all project funds.
  • Create and manage the schedule and ensure that the project deliverables are on time; ensure that quality assurance procedures are followed and completed throughout the project's execution.
  • Lead, motivate, and coach cross-discipline project teams, ensuring a positive team environment and facilitating conflict resolution.
  • Establish and maintain team communication at both the client and home office.
  • Schedule and facilitate all project team meetings and distribute accurate meeting minutes.
  • Utilize standard forms and reports to document project activities and project status.
  • Ensure all project information is appropriately distributed, documented, and saved.
  • Evaluate the project's status compared to the planning phase and determine the causes of any deviations; communicate and agree with the client on any change order needs.
  • Represent and balance the client's and the organization's interests.

Requirements and qualifications: 
 
  • Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering is required
  • 7+ years of experience in the chemical industry is preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite 
  • Knowledge of P&IDs and PFDs 
  • Strong competencies in planning, project management, leadership, and organization
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to produce and present clear, concise, and professionally written communications and presentations.
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Ability to lead and facilitate multiple activities and resources.
  • Demonstrated work ethic, integrity, and professional conduct.
  • Passionate, high energy, and results-oriented with a creative and analytical mind.
