Job Description

Laboratory Technician – Quality Control
$26/hr Benefits Offered + PTO + Holiday pay 
Shift: Tues – Sat  3pm – 11pm   ( Will train on the day shift, 7am – 3pm for the first few weeks) 
 
Sirius Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Laboratory Technician to join our production team. In this role, you will perform quality control testing, chemical and physical analyses, and maintain accurate laboratory records in a fast-paced industrial environment.
 
Responsibilities
  • Perform Quality Control grabs every four hours and on an as-needed basis
  • Prepare and perform composite analyses
  • Perform chemical analytical and physical testing using advanced instrumentation and physical testing methods
  • Assist with shipping samples to customers and coordinating additional testing
  • Communicate sample analysis progress and results to Production Supervisors
  • Maintain accurate and complete laboratory records
  • Troubleshoot issues in assigned work areas and communicate equipment or personnel downtime to the Supervisor
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment
  • Work safely at all times; report unsafe conditions to the supervisor and wear all required PPE (safety glasses, steel-toe boots, hard hat, respirator, earplugs, etc.)
  • Complete other duties as assigned 
 
Requirements
Education & Experience
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED required; some higher education or secondary science degree preferred
  • Minimum 6 months of industrial laboratory, manufacturing, or production experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and comprehend work and safety instructions
  • Competency in basic math and equations

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand and walk for sustained periods of time
  • Climbing stairs, ladders, ramps, and scaffolding using hands and feet
  • Frequently bending, crouching, and maintaining body equilibrium on narrow or slippery surfaces
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Repetitive use of wrists, hands, and fingers
  • Manual dexterity is sufficient to handle items and perceive attributes of objects and materials
  • Visual requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Must be able to hear detailed oral communication and make fine sound discriminations
  • Must be able to wear and work in a respirator
  • Moderate physical activity of a primarily production/technical nature
