Sirius Staffing is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist for a contract position in Havre De Grace, MD for a 1-year contract.
Schedule:
Onsite M-F, 8a-5p
Rate:
$25-37.50hr.
The Quality Assurance & Quality Control Specialist will assist the interim Quality Manager in overseeing all aspects of the Quality Management System at the HDG plant. This role ensures compliance with ISO-9001, GFSI (Food Safety), and other industry-regulated certifications. The specialist will implement risk assessment principles to enhance processes, maintain an auditable quality system, and support the management of the Quality Control lab to meet process control and customer requirements effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance:
- Support the maintenance and improvement of the local Quality Management System in alignment with BL SI Global Quality Processes.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics, ensuring alignment with global targets.
- Assist in audit preparation and execution, including customer, certification, technical, and regulatory inspections. Ensure timely follow-up on corrective actions.
- Manage supplier qualification programs, monitor supplier performance, and address non-conformances related to raw materials or services.
- Ensure compliance with the Management of Change (MOC) process and advise plant management on quality-related changes affecting regulated products.
Quality Control:
- Support the Quality Control Lab by coordinating daily activities and ensuring proper testing methods for raw materials, in-process samples, environmental samples, and final products.
- Monitor production processes and product quality, serving as the final release authority for atypical events or results.
- Conduct out-of-specification (OOS) investigations and ensure timely product release decisions.
- Review statistical process control (SPC) data, collaborate with production and process engineers, and implement statistical tools to enhance process control.
Industry-Specific Programs:
- Participate in the HACCP Team and act as a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) to ensure compliance with food safety and GMP programs.
- Oversee mock recalls, GMP inspections, and ensure regulatory and certification standards are met.
- Ensure compliance of products, labels, and certificates of analysis with legal and customer requirements. Obtain and maintain industry-specific licenses and permits.
- Support the development of new products, processes, trial runs, and technology transfers, ensuring proper product qualification frequency.
Strategic Focus:
- Maintain and uphold certifications, including ISO 9001, BRC, Kosher, Halal, and IPEC GMP.
- Drive continuous improvement and efficiency in quality, food safety, and GMP programs.
- Reduce quality-related losses through preventive measures and process enhancements.
- Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental policies while following SOPs, cGMPs, and regulatory guidelines to uphold the highest safety and quality standards.
