Job Description

Sirius Staffing is seeking Quality Engineering Manager for a direct-hire opportunity in Reno, NV. 
Pay: $120,400 to $180,500/ annually
Summary: Responsible for overseeing and improving quality performance in high-reliability power electronics production. The role involves supplier and contract manufacturer management, process auditing, and ensuring adherence to quality standards across global manufacturing networks.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead supplier and partner selection and development for high-reliability power electronics.
  • Conduct comprehensive contract manufacturer process audits at defined intervals.
  • Develop and manage quality performance metrics to drive corrective actions and continuous improvements.
  • Create Quality Requirement Specifications for high-reliability products manufactured by contract partners.
  • Provide critical input on material and process choices.
  • Participate in DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and DFM (Design for Manufacturability) activities.
  • Own and manage Process Flows, PFMEA, and Control Plans for new and existing products.
  • Enforce and lead PPAP processes to ensure consistent high-quality production.
  • Act as an ambassador for APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) and Safe Launch initiatives, aligning with the Generac Development Process (GDP).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean sigma tools, with formal trend management approaches and cost analysis.
  • Lead SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request) activities and ensure effective corrective actions at manufacturing sites.
  • Participate in corrective and preventive action processes related to manufacturing or material deficiencies.
  • Ensure effective implementation of ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) affecting products and processes.
  • Collaborate with sourcing teams to establish and manage a supplier management program.
  • Communicate quality program updates and progress to management and suppliers.
  • Represent manufacturing quality in management meetings and align with engineering and testing teams.
  • Act as a gatekeeper during the New Product Introduction process, ensuring design and material choices meet production quality criteria.
  • Monitor compliance with quality and safety certification standards.
  • Perform additional duties as required. 
 
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Industrial Technology (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in design and manufacturing of electronic, electromechanical, or software products with a focus on quality management in contract manufacturing or electromechanical assembly.
  • 5+ years of experience leading and mentoring teams.
  • Strong quantitative skills with the ability to analyze and communicate data effectively.
  • Knowledge of PCB design capabilities.
  • Critical thinker with the ability to strategically align actions with needs and set goals for technical teams. 
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Experience in budgetary or cost control management.
  • Background in power electronics, consumer electronics, or commercial electronics.
  • Experience working in international and matrixed organizations.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across multiple sites and functions.
  • Familiarity with hardware certification standards (e.g., UL1741).
  • Experience in mechanical and thermal analysis.working with international companies and in a matrix organization; 
  • Proven experience collaborating with multiple sites and functions to drive common solutions; 
  • Prior experience with hardware certification standards (e.g. UL1741) 
  • Mechanical and thermal analysis.
