SHEQ Manager
Job Description
Sirius Staffing seeks an experienced Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) Manager to lead sitewide safety, environmental, occupational health, and quality programs for a large industrial manufacturing facility. This role drives regulatory compliance, strengthens safety culture, oversees SHEQ systems, and leads a team focused on continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of SHEQ regulations, and a proven track record in industrial, chemical, or manufacturing settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the site SHEQ team while managing budgets and resources.
- Promote a proactive safety culture focused on accountability, hazard recognition, and environmental stewardship.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, federal, and company SHEQ requirements.
- Oversee occupational health and industrial hygiene programs, including exposure monitoring and fitness-for-duty initiatives.
- Coordinate emergency response planning, crisis management exercises, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Manage internal and external SHEQ audits and corrective action programs.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Serve as the primary site contact for regulatory agencies and external stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs and employee awareness initiatives.
- Coach, mentor, and evaluate SHEQ personnel to support professional growth and performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety,
- Engineering, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- 5+ years of SHEQ leadership experience within manufacturing, chemical processing, mining, industrial, or heavy industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, environmental regulations, industrial hygiene, and risk management practices.
- Experience leading incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, NEBOSH, or ISO Lead Auditor are highly desirable.
- Proven ability to lead teams, influence safety culture, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in both office and industrial environments.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including respirators when necessary.
- Ability to walk production areas, climb stairs and ladders, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, noise, confined spaces, and industrial operating environments may occur.
