Job Description

Sirius Staffing is seeking Safety Inspector B for contract to direct hire opportunity in Pascagoula, MS. As a Safety Inspector you will inspect work areas and/or work practices to ensure compliance with safety rules and objectives. You will prepare and maintain reports related to safety while working under the general supervision of a Safety or Plant Manager.

Work Schedule - Mon thru Friday flexible day schedule 6-3, 7-4, or 8-5

$29.48-$35.55/BOE + benefits 

TYPICAL DUTIES: 
  • Instructs employees and supervisors on proper safety practices and techniques.
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Monitors and ensures continued adherence of safety rules and procedures.
  • May investigate employee complaints concerning unsafe working conditions.
  • Responds to workplace safety or security emergencies and issues.
  • Inspects specified areas for fire-prevention equipment and other safety and first-aid supplies.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of Inspection experience 
  • Knowledge of state and Federal regulations relative to safety, health, environment, and workers compensation. 
  • Good knowledge of plant operations or the ability to acquire it in a timely manner.
  • Ability to maintain accurate, current records and generate complete and timely reports. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: 
  • Completion of standard education supplemented by training in first aid. 
  • Some plant inspectors or safety administration; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
