Solar Operator
Job Description
Sirius Staffing is seeking a Solar Operator for a long-term contract position in Midland, TX.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee electrical compliance and performance within the facility.
- Perform pre-job briefs and complete associated documentation before tasks.
- Troubleshoot and perform repairs on site equipment to ensure continuous operation.
- Collaborate with the Renewable Energy Advisor to plan and schedule corrective and preventive maintenance activities. Plan and schedule major equipment maintenance to minimize downtime and revenue impact.
- Record all work performed within the provided CMSS system (SAP).
- Assist in the development of the yearly budget for operations.
- Interface with other departments and external agencies to provide information and support as required.
- Liaise with landowners as needed to address any concerns or requirements.
- Initiate and assist with all insurance claims made by the company.
- Execute all required monitoring tasks within the facility.
- Manage waste disposal in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Support daily, monthly, bi-annual, and annual NERC requirements.
- Assist with corporate monthly reporting requirements such as availability and production reporting.
Required Skills/Experience:
- High School Diploma.
- At least 5 years of experience in solar field operations
- Strong understanding of solar facility operations.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations related to solar operations.
- Proficiency in corporate and industry safety standards and practices.
- Ability to make quick, sound decisions using good judgment.
- Proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook software programs.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with NERC requirements is a plus.
- Knowledge of solar generating equipment construction.
