Safety and Security Officer
Job Description
Sirius Staffing is seeking a Safety Officer for a leading manufacturing facility in Calvert City, KY. This position is responsible for maintaining site safety and security through facility patrols, emergency response support, safety inspections, compliance monitoring, and coordination of emergency services activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial safety, emergency response, firefighting, or security operations within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Work Schedule:
Day/night rotating shift work
Dupont Schedule, 28 day cycle, every 4th week 7 days off
Responsibilities
- Patrol and secure facility premises while monitoring surveillance systems and access points
- Manage inbound/outbound deliveries, visitor access, and DOT shipment compliance
- Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
- Support confined space, scaffolding, excavation, and site safety compliance activities
- Maintain and inspect safety equipment including harnesses, lanyards, and air monitoring devices
- Assist with incident investigations and near-miss reporting
- Serve as part of the plant emergency response team including EMS, HazMat, rescue, and fire response
- Provide emergency medical support and first aid when needed
- Coordinate and deliver site safety and emergency response training
- Work closely with plant leadership, employees, contractors, and local emergency services
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- EMT certification preferred
- Firefighter certification preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information
- Proficient computer skills
- Industrial, manufacturing, safety, security, or emergency response experience preferred
