Position Overview:
We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Warehouse & Shipping Associate to support our daily warehouse operations. This role involves material handling, inventory management, shipping/receiving, and preparing both hazardous and non-hazardous materials for shipment. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, values accuracy, and works well on a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load/unload freight; scan and store materials using warehouse management systems
- Operate wire-guided and narrow aisle forklifts, including "operator-up" equipment
- Package materials for shipment in compliance with DOT, IATA, and IMO regulations
- Apply appropriate shipping labels and documentation
- Perform inventory audits and full location checks
- Process goods receipts and scan items into the shipping system
- Coordinate with carriers and schedule dock appointments
- Communicate with Procurement and Customer Interface teams on urgent or inaccurate orders
- Assist with onboarding/training of new staff and support system troubleshooting
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or HSED required
- 1+ year of warehouse or shipping experience preferred
- Experience with hazardous materials is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail; able to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities
- Proficient in basic computer operations and scanning/shipping equipment
- Must be able to read, write, and understand English
Work Environment:
- Warehouse/distribution center setting
- Exposure to moving machinery, chemicals, and varying temperatures
- PPE may be required (e.g., gloves, safety glasses, chemical suits, safety shoes)
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and move up to 60 lbs unassisted
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching
- Regular use of warehouse tools, computers, and phones
- Visual acuity for close and distance tasks
