Job Description

Sirius Staffing is seeking an experienced Process Engineer for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Greensboro, NC.
Schedule: 8-5
Summary: 
Responsible for providing engineering and technical support for the plant's Distributed Control System (DCS) network and process control systems. The Process Engineer will configure, program, troubleshoot, and optimize plant control systems to improve production efficiency, product quality, environmental compliance, and overall plant performance.                                                                                    
Responsibilities:       
  • Monitor, configure, and optimize the plant Distributed Control System (DCS) network to maximize production efficiency and equipment reliability.
  • Configure and maintain process control systems to ensure finished products meet quality specifications.
  • Troubleshoot control system issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance personnel to diagnose and resolve process control and instrumentation problems.
  • Develop, modify, and optimize plant operating logic to improve process performance and operational efficiency.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including:
    • Logic diagrams
    • Interlock lists
    • Sequence flow charts
    • Database documentation
    • Control system layout drawings
  • Serve as the technical resource for plant personnel regarding process control systems and automation.
  • Review and maintain environmental compliance control logic to ensure all permit requirements are met through proper operating controls.
  • Support engineering and production teams on capital improvement projects and system upgrades.
  • Prepare and submit required engineering reports and project documentation.
  • Specify, select, and develop loop sheets for process instrumentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve plant reliability, safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, environmental regulations, and engineering standards.                                                                                                                                                          
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or Electrical Engineering required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing or industrial process environment.
  • Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS), process automation, or industrial control systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Experience programming, configuring, and maintaining process control systems.
  • Knowledge of process instrumentation and control loop design.
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, logic diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering documentation.
