Position Overview
A leading industrial organization is seeking a Senior Plant Engineer to join its engineering team in Tuscaloosa, AL. This is a high-impact role responsible for the successful planning and execution of capital and maintenance projects within a complex plant environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in refining, petrochemical, or heavy industrial operations and a strong focus on plant safety, project delivery, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project execution for capital and maintenance initiatives
- Partner with operations, maintenance, and leadership to drive plant enhancements
- Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules aligned with organizational goals
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and safety standards
- Manage contractor engagement and performance to support timely project delivery
- Troubleshoot plant equipment and systems to support reliability efforts
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineering staff
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or related engineering field
- 8–10+ years of experience in a refinery, petrochemical, or heavy industrial setting
- Demonstrated experience managing capital projects in an operating plant environment
- Strong understanding of engineering standards, plant safety, and compliance regulations
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in relevant engineering tools and project software
- PE license preferred but not required
