Job Description

Sirius Staffing is seeking a Structural Designer II for a marine client in Pascagoula, MS. This is a long-term position with the potential for contract-to-direct hire or direct hire. The Structural Designer II will leverage creativity, technical expertise, knowledge of regulatory standards, and industry experience to design and develop innovative, cost-effective vessel designs.

Rate:  $34.82 + benefits offered 

Schedule – Monday – Friday, core working hours (flexible start times 6-3, 7-4, 8-5)

Responsibilities:
  • Creates innovative and cost-effective solutions for vessel designs.
  • Develops functional drawings based on engineer direction and applicable work order instructions.
  • Reviews applicable specification and regulation requirements.
  • Develops detailed production drawings from functional drawings, specifications, and work orders.
  • Ensures engineering deliverables conform to design standards and customer specifications.
  • Ensures the design integrates seamlessly with the overall vessel design.
  • Actively interfaces with engineering disciplines and production departments.
  • Consult with vendors on project-related activities.
  • Adheres to company policies, including safety, environmental standards, and quality system principles.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested by Management.
  • Maintains regular attendance and is available for overtime work when needed.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent 
  • Five (5) years of CAD operating experience; AutoCAD and ShipConstructor preferred. 
  • Working knowledge of USCG, ABS, SOLAS, and government shipbuilding standards.
  • Familiarity with marine systems and the shipbuilding industry.
  • Supervisory skills, including the ability to coordinate and schedule team activities.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to train and supervise junior AutoCAD operators.
