Structural Engineer
Job Description
Sirius Staffing is seeking a Structural Engineer for a direct hire in the Pensacola, FL. area. The schedule is Monday – Friday, 8a-5p.
This role involves designing and analyzing heavy industrial structures, ensuring safety, compliance, and structural integrity in various industrial environments.
Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze structural components for Air Pollution Control Systems, including Electrostatic Precipitators (ESPs), Baghouses, Boiler Buildings, Ductwork, and Support Structures.
- Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to ensure the safety and stability of structures.
- Review project specifications and ensure structural integrity aligns with industry standards.
- Conduct field inspections to obtain accurate measurements and assess structural conditions.
- Collaborate with project teams to optimize designs and support fabrication and construction phases.
- Provide technical guidance for resolving structural engineering challenges.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for project records and compliance.
Requirements:
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required in at least one U.S. state.
- 6+ years of structural engineering experience, primarily in heavy industrial projects (no more than 20% commercial experience).
- Industry experience in power plants, paper mills, or refineries preferred.
- Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) required.
- Experience with RISA and basic AutoCAD is beneficial.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and elevated platforms for field assessments.
- Strong problem-solving and technical skills for structural design and troubleshooting.
- US Citizenship required.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with teams and stakeholders.
- In-office position (not remote), with some travel required.
- Salary is negotiable based on experience, and relocation assistance may be available
