                                                    Supervisor of Network and Telecommunications

The Supervisor of Network and Telecommunications leads a team of high performing IT professionals responsible for network infrastructure providing data, voice, video, firewall, WIFI and VPN services.  The Supervisor is responsible for the execution and management of the network infrastructure.  The individual successfully leads a team of network and telecommunication administrators and vendors while also collaborating with cybersecurity and other IT team members on testing, integration, and deployment of network systems. Monitors the network infrastructure for system performance, utilization, and compliance. The individual serves as the primary internal advisor to department managers and directors on issues relating to networking essentials. He/she manages customer relations with IT customers and partners and provides oversight for the delivery of IT services to those clients. The individual recommends updates and changes to provide a forward-looking and robust network environment. He/she manages the resources under his/her area of responsibility in order to ensure that the necessary support of new systems is available. Requires strong negotiation skills and includes cost and schedule management responsibilities for multiple projects.

In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the, Lan/Wan Administrators, Telecom Administrator and Telecom Coordinator. This includes carrying out leadership responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring, training and coaching employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees and addressing complaints and resolving problems by following all of company policies, procedures and applicable laws.


What your day may look like:
•    Directly manages employees in the network and telecommunications areas. Provides appropriate development opportunities to ensure staff is competent in performing their assigned functions and continually improving their performance.
•    Supervises cross-functional work teams
•    Supervises 24X7 operations of network operations, plans, controls and manages network activities. He/she insures team is accurately measuring and addressing capacity needs.
•    Develops and maintains network design and documentation.
•    Analyzes and creates solutions to complex problems and relationships between integrated systems/networks.
•    Provide expert level administration and maintenance for the enterprise infrastructure components to include both on prem and cloud data centers.
•    Oversees firmware, hardware, OS upgrades, and required patch management are monitored and kept up to date.
•    Develops metrics to monitor overall network performance and perform the necessary tuning.
•    Ensures DR readiness is up to date and backup copies for all network components are current and available.
•    Oversees the regular testing of network redundancy and failover circuit testing.
•    Employs excellent analytical skills to define system network requirements and objectives for system, and network maintenance or enhancement requests and communicates to clients and appropriate technical staff.
•    Participates in contract negotiations with vendors.
•    Reviews specifications and documentation for completeness and accuracy.
•    Identifies and assigns appropriate staff resources required to realize project goals.
•    Identifies, monitors and manages project risks from organizational and technical stances.
Education and experience needed for this position
•    Six years of leadership experience in a mid-to-large scale technology environment is required.
•    Six years minimum in-depth experience in directing network operations.
•    Experience in Cisco and Meraki technologies preferred.
•    Experienced in dynamic and static network routing.
•    Demonstrated experience working well with customers of varying levels of technical expertise in high pressure situations and complex environments.
•    Demonstrated experience in managing teams and projects.

The work environment for this position is that of a typical office environment where the noise level is mostly quiet. This position requires you to use your hands for many different tasks and to talk, hear, walk, stand and sit. You may be occasionally required to lift or move up to 10 pounds.
