Technical Writer
Job Description
Sirius Staffing is seeking a Technical Writer for a hybrid contract role in Lafayette, IN. Please contact us today for more information.
Rate: 30hr.
Must work at least 60 % onsite
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Technical Writer with a background in manufacturing to create and refine operational procedures for our Site Services department. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Operators and Area Managers to document processes accurately and consistently, ensuring they meet site standards. This role requires the ability to adapt to varying levels of procedural detail, from general routines to highly detailed, step-by-step processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain technical documentation for Site Services using site-standard templates.
- Collaborate with Operators to gather detailed information about their activities and workflows.
- Tailor documentation to meet the specific needs and detail levels required by Area Managers for each department.
- Start with areas that have few procedures, then expand documentation efforts as needed.
- Ensure all written procedures are accurate, clear, and adhere to site standards.
- Work independently to gather, organize, and verify technical content.
- Facilitate reviews and revisions of documentation with Area Managers and Operators to maintain accuracy and usability.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong ability to document complex processes clearly and concisely.
- Familiarity with manufacturing workflows and operational activities is preferred.
- Proficiency with technical writing tools and templates.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially when working with Operators and Managers.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Relevant work experience will also be considered.
Schedule:
Hybrid/Onsite: M-F 8-5
