Job Description
Job Title: Warehouse & Shipping Associate
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: $18.50/hour
Schedule:
• Monday – Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload freight; receive materials from outside vendors
- Use scanners or computer systems to put away and retrieve products
- Operate narrow aisle, wire-guided, and "operator-up" forklifts and powered industrial trucks
- Select and stage materials for shipment; prepare, pack, and label hazardous and non-hazardous materials according to DOT, IATA, and IMO regulations
- Print and apply appropriate labels and markings to ensure compliance with hazmat regulations
- Perform accurate documentation and inventory movements
- Conduct full location audits and maintain inventory accuracy
- Schedule dock appointments and coordinate with carriers
- Communicate discrepancies to Procurement and collaborate with Customer Interface Departments on expedited shipping and issue resolution
- Prepare and maintain hazardous shipping documentation and CONF orders
- Follow GDP (Good Distribution Practices) and all safety protocols
- Participate in team troubleshooting, assist with training new employees, and complete miscellaneous assigned duties
- Maintain exemplary attendance and adherence to schedule
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels
- Ability to work both independently and within a team setting
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with PCs, scanners, printers, and basic shipping equipment
- Understanding of shipping regulations, especially those related to hazardous materials
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to lift/move up to 60 lbs unassisted (more with assistance)
- Standing, walking, bending, stooping, or kneeling for extended periods
- Exposure to warehouse conditions: may include temperature fluctuations, moving mechanical parts, or use of PPE
- Regular use of phones, computers, and standard office/warehouse equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ year of warehouse, distribution, or shipping experience
- Familiarity with hazardous materials and shipping compliance a plus
Education:
- High School Diploma, GED, or HSED required
