Warehouse Operator
Job Description
Sirius Staffing is seeking a Warehouse Associate for a contract opportunity in Hopewell, VA. This position supports daily warehouse and logistics operations within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in shipping, receiving, inventory management, forklift operation, and SAP warehouse systems while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Rotate through all warehouse functions, including order picking, putaways, order preparation, shipping, and receiving
- Process inventory transactions and maintain accurate records using SAP Warehouse Management (WM) module
- Load, unload, move, and store materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment
- Verify incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare shipping documentation and ensure compliance with applicable transportation regulations
- Follow ISO procedures and established warehouse operating standards
- Support inventory control activities, cycle counts, and material reconciliation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures at all times
- Assist with hazardous material packaging, labeling, and shipment activities as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, logistics, or distribution experience preferred
- Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment
- SAP experience, particularly within Warehouse Management (WM), strongly preferred
- Knowledge of inventory control and warehouse processes
- Familiarity with ISO procedures and quality standards
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced industrial environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of hazardous material shipping regulations including:
- IATA (International Air Transport Association)
- IMDG (International Maritime Dangerous Goods)
- 49 CFR Hazardous Materials Regulations
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, chemical, or industrial environment
- Experience with shipping documentation, bills of lading, and regulatory compliance
