Sirius Staffing is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Material Handler to support operations at a leading biopharmaceutical facility in Rockville, MD. This role involves accurate receiving, storage, and distribution of materials—including raw materials, client samples, and finished goods. While no formal degree is required, prior experience in biopharma shipping and handling is essential. Candidates with an associate degree in biotechnology are strongly encouraged to apply.
Sirius Staffing is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Material Handler to support operations at a leading biopharmaceutical facility in Rockville, MD. This role involves accurate receiving, storage, and distribution of materials—including raw materials, client samples, and finished goods. While no formal degree is required, prior experience in biopharma shipping and handling is essential. Candidates with an associate degree in biotechnology are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming materials, samples, and finished goods according to established quality procedures, including verifying quantities and reviewing documentation.
- Accurately record transactions in inventory systems such as Oracle or LIMS.
- Ensure proper storage of inventory, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., segregation, temperature controls).
- Fulfill material requisitions and support timely delivery to internal departments.
- Conduct routine physical inventory counts and assist with stock disposition activities.
- Prepare and ship materials per client specifications, ensuring all documentation (e.g., permits, licenses) is complete and shipments are coordinated with appropriate carriers.
- Monitor, operate, and maintain department-assigned equipment.
- Support operational improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Operate material handling equipment including pallet jacks, hand trucks, and dock levelers.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in biopharma shipping and material handling is required.
- No degree required; associate degree in biotechnology is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
