Job Description:
The Warehouse Operator is responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, handling, and shipment of materials, supplies, equipment, and returned goods. Key duties include verifying incoming shipments, safely operating material handling equipment, and ensuring all outgoing packages—especially those involving hazardous materials—comply with applicable regulations. This role works closely with procurement, shipping, and internal teams to support operational efficiency and inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving
- Receive and properly store all incoming materials, supplies, equipment, and returned goods.
- Unload trailers using powered equipment; verify freight and sign bills of lading.
- Sort, inspect, and record incoming materials using systems such as SAP.
- Label and prepare materials for internal distribution or storage.
- Schedule dock appointments and resolve discrepancies with Procurement.
Packing & Shipping
- Pack hazardous and nonhazardous items in accordance with all shipping regulations.
- Process pre-pack, bulk, and specialty orders per standard procedures.
- Apply correct labels and documentation to meet hazardous material compliance standards.
- Coordinate with Customer Interface teams on expedited shipments and issues.
- Maintain accurate shipping and return records.
Material Handling
- Select and stage products using powered industrial trucks, including narrow aisle and operator-up equipment.
- Operate all material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Use scanners or computer systems to track inventory movements.
- Deliver and store materials accurately for internal stakeholders.
Inventory Management
- Maintain inventory accuracy through audits, counts, and system adjustments.
- Train new employees and contribute to process improvements.
- Collaborate with leads and supervisors to resolve system or inventory issues.
- Use SAP and WMS to manage pull slips and stock tracking.
General
- Ensure timely delivery of products to internal departments.
- Report safety hazards or potential risks to leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate exemplary attendance and adherence to work schedules.
