Warehouse Operator
Job Description
- Overseeing general warehouse operations, encompassing material inventory control, storage, reception, handling, and processing of chemical raw material drums and other vessels across the plant
- Receiving, inspecting, and distributing ordered materials
- Utilizing computer systems for data input and retrieval
- Maintaining necessary safety documentation
- Attending all compulsory site-specific training sessions and meetings
- Executing job responsibilities following procedures outlined in the Quality Systems Manual, safety protocols, and site-specific guidelines
- Sustaining cleanliness, safety, and organization in work and supply areas consistently
- Acquiring proficiency in necessary transactions within our MPR enterprise system relevant to the Shipping role
- Familiarizing oneself with all labeling prerequisites for each shipped package/product
- Preparing goods, including hazardous materials, for shipment in accordance with applicable regulations
- Operating both electric and manual forklifts and pallet jacks
- Participating in the collection, entry, and review of safety and quality data
- Ability to lift, push, and or pull up to 50lbs
- Bend, stoop, squat, crawl, kneel, climb, and or reach above shoulder
- Wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, masks, and or steel-toed safety shoes, as needed (All PPE is provided, including steel-toed boots, safety glasses (prescription included if needed), and high-visibility orange vests)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions
- Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets and technical drawings
- Forklift driving and/or pallet jack experience, have the ability to be Forklift certified
- Must have a good, clean driving record
- Familiar with an MRP enterprise-type system for inventory and warehouse management
- Experience working with chemicals preferred; in a manufacturing or chemical environment
- Preferably have DOT/Hazmat certification but will train the right person.
- Familiar with DOT 49CFR Hazardous Goods, IATA – International Air Dangerous Goods, ADR – Agreement on Dangerous Goods by Road, and IMDG – International Maritime Dangerous Goods regulations in preparing goods for final shipment
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic experience with computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
